Let’s Rethink How We Motivate People to Give | Elliot Clark

God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7). Reading that verse, our eyes naturally fall on the word “cheerful.” Paul, writing to the Corinthians, teaches that God delights in those who give gladly; he isn’t pleased if we do so grudgingly. Christian offerings aren’t meant to be a tax levied on citizens of the kingdom. They’re meant to be the overflow of gratitude for God’s grace to us in his Son, who became poor that we might become rich (2 Cor. 8:9). [TGC]
